Who is Doja Cat and why is the 26 year old quitting music?
American rapper Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, professionally known as Doja Cat, in a series of tweets on Friday said that she was quitting music.
The singer changed her name from Doja Cat to “i quit” on Twitter and later to “i quit still.”
The announcement came after the star cancelled her show at the Asunciónico Festival in Paraguay because of flooding due to a major storm.
Fans had called her out for cancelling the show a week before and not issuing them any sort of apology. They also complained about standing outside the hotel in rain to meet the rapper, only for her not to appear.
In response to the claims, Doja Cat said, “This ain’t for me so I’m out. Y’all take care.”
In a subsequent tweet, the rapper said that she quit music and can’t wait to disappear. “Everything is dead to me, music is dead,” she added.
Some people came to Doja Cat’s defence and called out the “entitled” attitude of “fans.”
One person made an "important observation."
While others got lost in translation.
