Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday decided to hold a rally on March 27 at Parade Ground Islamabad instead of D-Chowk, Aaj News reported.

In a letter to Islamabad's deputy commissioner, shared on PTI's official Twitter account, the party asked the official to make necessary arrangements "in terms of provision of security, venue, and other related facilitation."

“The Parade Ground will be more suitable to accommodate the number of people that are expected to participate in the rally,” the letter said.

Earlier in the day PTI Senator Faisal Javed during a media talk has confirmed the development.

Javed expressed that PTI has always obeyed the rules in all of their rallies and said "we are going to hold a rally at Parade ground instead of D-Chowk."

Earlier on Saturday the Islamabad High Court (IHC), while hearing a petition filed by the Supreme Court Bar Association, had ruled against holding any political gathering in Red Zone which houses important government institutions including the Parliament House, Supreme Court, Presidency and the Prime Minister Office.

The petition sought peaceful execution of no-confidence vote's proceedings in the National Assembly against Prime Minister Imran Khan. It also sough to prevent a likely clash between the opposition and the government workers ahead of the no-trust move in the federal capital. For the stated purposes, the SCBA sought Supreme Court's intervention in the matter.

The apex court in its orders has directed the Islamabad inspector general to initiate action according to the law.
