PM Imran's claim of foreign hand behind no-trust move is ''foolish": PML-N's Shehbaz
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz president and leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday dismissed as ''foolish" Prime Minister Imran Khan's claim of foreign hand behind no-trust move.
Addressing a joint press conference along with Pakistan Democratic Movement chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Pakistan People's party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad, Sharif lambasted the incumbent government for destroying the country's economy saying inflation in the current regime is at a historical high.
"It has made peoples lives miserable," he said adding that the incumbent government has "mortgaged our future generations by taking hefty loans."
Shehbaz said the PTI government is just inaugurating the projects initiated by the past governments and no new project has yet been initiated during the current government.
Lambasting the government's foreign policy failure he said that due to the PTI's incompetency friends who once supported the country were angry. Shehbaz also pointed towards criticism and "baseless allegations" against Chinese funded development projects saying that what type of foreign policy has angered China.
Speaking about the no-confidence motion the PML-N president said the decision was taken after the consultation with all the parties and according to the public and national interest.
“We have taken this decision for the people of Pakistan and not for ourselves and that the people were not forgive them if it has been further delayed,” he said.
Shehbaz said that government is taking political revenge in the name of accountability.
JUI'F leader Maulana Fazl, who also spoke at the presser, said the the 2018 elections were 'rigged and stolen' and that the public mandate has been robbed.
The PDM chief said the incumbent government has ruined the economy adding that all the promises of the premier turned lie and now the people of the country also have realized the the premier has deceived them.
Fazl said that all the opposition parties are united over the issues related to the public interests.
He said that the opposition parties are not against any institution but are against the decisions.
Speaking on the occasion Zardari that he was confident of getting more than required number adding that entire country was fed up of Imran Khan.
Zardari also invited distant friends to help and support the opposition to get rid of the current difficult situation.
