Indian actor Shabana Azmi to feature in Halo

Veteran Indian actor Shabana Azmi revealed she will be a part of Halo, a series adapted from the video game franchise, releasing on March 24. Taking to Twitter, Azmi called it her first colour blind casting despite working in the West for 34 years.

Colour blind casting refers to actors being hired for roles, regardless of their skin colour.

“What a struggle it has been for Asian actors,” her tweet read.

She will be seen portraying Admiral Margaret Paragonsky, who is the director of the Office of Naval Intelligence.

She also tweeted a first look at her character in the upcoming series.

Azmi has also been part of many other international projects, including La Nuit, Bengali, Son of Pink Panther and Madame Sousatzka, to name a few.

The series was developed for Paramount+ and is based on a popular science fiction game, owned by Xbox Game Studios.

Pablo Schreiber, Natascha McElhone, Charlie Murphy, Bokeem Woodbine, Danny Sapani, among others are also in the cast.
