Saudi Arabia’s interior minister reaches Pakistan for day-long visit
Saudi Arabia’s Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif along with a six-member delegation reached Pakistan on Monday for a day-long visit.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid received his Saudi Arabian counterpart at the Noor Khan Air Base Rawalpindi. The minister also shared the video of the foreign dignitary’s arrival on Twitter.
Interior Secretary Yousaf Naseem and other senior officials were also present on the occasion, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan. The Saudi interior minister is visiting Pakistan after a special invitation from Sheikh Rashid.
A formal meeting between the two ministers and delegation would be held at the interior ministry.
"The Saudi dignitary would also meet President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan besides other key government and security officials," it read, adding that regional issues, the release of Pakistani prisoners in Saudi Arabia and other important matters would come under discussion during the meeting.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan would host delegates from the Organisation of Islamic Countries and the Saudi Arabia foreign minister for the Pakistan Day parade in Islamabad.
