Madhya Pradesh Police on Sunday arrested a man for calling Mumbai Police control room about a terror attack on Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan which turned out to be false, reported Indian media.

Jitesh Thakur, 35 was arrested on Saturday on the basis of a mobile number shared by the Maharashtra Police, reported Zoom TV.

The website quotes Mumbai police as saying Thakur called the police and said he was from the army and "there will be attack in Mumbai with "nuclear bomb", and bombings at places like the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Kurla railway station, near actor Shah Rukh Khan's bungalow and near a gurdwara at Kharghar in neighbouring Navi Mumbai."

The police investigated the claims and found nothing.

Mumbai police spokesperson also said the man had made hoax calls in the past also and quarrelled with the staff of Dial 100, a police SOS service, on several occasions.

Khan's home in Mumbai is a popular tourist destination among Bollywood fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the superstar. He named his house Mannat and it is known to be a luxurious home with breathtaking sea views.
