Buzdar announces to provide compensation to heirs of those died in Murree tragedy
Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has announced to form a four member committee for inquiry into the tragic incident of Murree.
Chairing a high level meeting at Gharial in Murree he announced that a committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Punjab will submit its report in seven days and action will be taken against those responsible for the negligence in light of the inquiry committee's report.
Buzdar also announced to provide compensation to the families of those tourists who died in the in the tragic incident.
He announced Rs0.8 million for the heirs of each of the 22 people who died in the Murree tragedy.
Chief Minister also expressed his displeasure over entry of more vehicles than capacity in Murree.
CM also announced to give Murree the representation of a full-fledged district. He reiterated that no surplus traffic will be allowed to enter the premises of Murree.
Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat, Special Assistant to CM Punjab on Information Hassan Khawar, Chief Secretary, IG Police and other officers concerned also attended the meeting.
Earlier in the day CM Buzdar conducted an aerial inspection of snow-affected areas in Murree and reviewed the ongoing relief efforts.
