Heavy rains across different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have killed at least 12 people and injured 29 in different incidents, Aaj News reported on Sunday, with weather forecasters expecting dense fog in plain areas of the province on Monday.

The damage to public property was also reported in such incidents, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority report released. The report gives details about different incidents reported since the rain and snow spell started in the province on December 3.

As per KP Information Department’s Saturday update, at least six people died and 13 injured over the last 24 hours in various incidents.

In the recent rain, 10 people – including seven children and two women – died in Upper Dir, it read, adding that one death was reported in Mardan and Lower Kohistan each. Moreover, 29 people were injured in different incidents of roof collapse in different areas.

The report added that as many as 22 houses were partially damaged in rain-related incidents.

The PDMA said relief items were distributed among affected families in Charsadda and Upper Dir. As per the instructions of KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan relief efforts were under way and the administration was working to clear roads.
