Police has lodged a first information report on Monday against an attack on journalist Reham Khan's car in which her driver and personal secretary were travelling on Rawalpindi-Islamabad highway near the IJP Road.

"Two armed men, whose ages were between 25 to 30 years, wearing face masks were riding on a motorcycle tried to stop the car. The car was in use of Khan for the whole day on Sunday. However, she changed the car just before the incident," read the FIR lodged in Shams Colony Islamabad police station, quoting Bilal Azmat, personal secretary of Khan.

Azmat in the FIR said he had no hostility with anyone and it was assumed that a message was being sent to Khan by scaring him. “The sole purpose of scaring me is to scare Khan,” read the FIR.

Three sections of Pakistan Penal Code were included in the FIR, namely Section 506 II (punishment for criminal intimidation), Section 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint) and Section 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offences)

She shared a picture of the FIR in a tweet.

In a message on Twitter, Khan said: "On the way back from my nephew’s marriage my car just got fired at & two men on a motorbike held vehicle at gunpoint."

She had shared a picture of the complaint lodged in Shams Colony Islamabad police station in which her personal secretary said they were travelling on Rawalpindi-Islamabad highway near the IJP Road when two men tried to stop them at gunpoint.
