Soldier martyred in exchange of fire with terrorists in North Waziristan: ISPR
A soldier was martyred in an exchange of fire with terrorists in the Shewa area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's North Waziristan district, the Inter-Services Public Relations said on Saturday.
According to the armed forces' media wing statement, terrorists fired at a military post in the area following which the army troops initiated a "prompt response and effectively engaged the terrorists' location."
It read: "During the intense exchange of fire, Naik Noor Merjan, age 32 years, resident of Kurram embraced Shahadat."
Clearance of the area was being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area, it added.
