Quetta man’s kidney removed fraudulently during operation
An employee of the Balochistan Assembly who was diagnosed with kidney stone was fraudulently deprived of one of his kidneys during an operation at a private hospital on Airport Road in Quetta.
Imran Masih did not know this happened until his health started deteriorating a few days after the treatment. When his family took him to Karachi for a checkup, they found that Masih had just one kidney, that too was not working.
The Express Tribune reported that sources close to the patient revealed the private hospital continued to perform dialysis on Masih free of cost. They even gave him free pick and drop service.
According to Dawn.com, the president of Balochistan Assembly Employees’ Association, Zafar Rind condemned the act by the private hospital and said that the patient's family had contacted the hospital to register an FIR against the surgeons that carried out the operation.
They also approached the police to register an FIR, however they were refused "due to several days of delay."
“If police does not register a case, the Assembly Employees Union will go for a protest,” said Rind.
