'Australian cricket team to get foolproof security'
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad on Friday assured that foolproof security arrangements have been made for the Australian team's visit to Pakistan scheduled in March-April of next year.
A security delegation from Cricket Australia met with the interior minister in Islamabad to discuss arrangements for the visit. The minister said he is also in contact with the governments of Sindh and Punjab, as well as security agencies.
He said that the people of Pakistan love cricket and have been waiting for Australia-Pakistan matches to take place on home soil since the last 24 years. Sheikh Rasheed said that the Australian team will be given a warm welcome on their arrival, while adding that this clash on the cricket field will make for a very good match.
The minister also expressed gratitude to Cricket Australia for agreeing to send a team to Pakistan.
