NA-133 by-election in Lahore to be held on December 5
The Election Commission of Pakistan on Monday announced by-election schedule for NA-133 Lahore XI which will be held on December 5, according to an Aaj News report.
The National Assembly seat was vacated after the death of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz lawmaker Pervaiz Malik on October 11.
According to details issued by the ECP, the nomination papers for the NA seat can be submitted from October 21-25, while the election body will scrutinize the papers on October 30.
Final list of candidates for the seat will be issued on November 10 after removing objections on the nomination papers.
The ECP further stated nominees can take back their papers on Nov 11.
In a tweet, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf parliamentary board Lahore nominated Jamshed Iqbal Cheema for contesting NA-133 by-election.
An old PTI member, Prime Minister Imran Khan appointed Cheema as Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Food Security in April.
