NCOC rejects widely-circulated news claiming closure of educational institutions
The National Command and Operation Centre on Monday rejected news circulating on social media which said it had decided to close educational institutions across the country from September 6 to 30 due to Covid situation.
“No such decision [was] made at the NCOC. Please avoid rumours,” said the NCOC in a tweet regarding the image which had been created to look like an official document when it was not.
In related news, the Sindh government made vaccination mandatory for the students of Karachi division who are in grade XI and above. They would not be allowed to take admission, take classes and appear in practical or other examination prior to vaccination, said the Directorate of College Education Karachi in a notification.
It further said the students aged 17 and above would be inoculated after taking consent from their parents.
The department in the notification asked all principals of the Karachi Division colleges to get the consent form signed from parents or guardians of the students.
