UK retains Pakistan in its travel 'red list'
LONDON: The British government, announcing changes in its travel list this evening, retained Pakistan in travel 'red list'.
The British government added Thailand and Montenegro to its travel "red list", with foreigners banned from travelling to England from those countries, and nationals required to quarantine.
Pakistan official were quite hopeful that both the country will be moved to the amber list.
PM Imran Khan also have urged the UK government to move the country to the amber travel list.
The British government had placed Pakistan on its travel 'red list on April 2. On August 8, in an updated list, the government retained Pakistan in its travel 'red list' while moved India along with Bahrain, Qatar and UAE to the amber list.
The British government said that Thailand and Montenegro would be added to the red list from 4 am (0300GMT) on Monday 30 August 2021, reflecting the increased coronavirus case rates in those countries.
British and Irish nationals and those living in the UK are allowed to travel from red list countries, but must quarantine in a hotel for 10 days on arrival.
The government added Switzerland, Denmark and Canada to the green list, the Department for Transport added.
Travellers from those destinations will now not have to quarantine, regardless of vaccination status.
The British Government finally announced the changes to its travel list earlier this evening.
