ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad says Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan will not be allowed to perpetrate terrorism in Pakistan.

Talking to media persons in Islamabad on Wednesday, the minister said that the Afghan Taliban had assured that they would not allow their land to be used against any other country, including Pakistan.

Rashid said that we have paid a heavy price for being an ally of US. Pakistan is not directly involved in any issue of Afghanistan he added.

The Interior Minister said Pakistan will also not allow its land to be used against Afghanistan.

He said that India instigated terrorism in Pakistan and change in Afghanistan has left India in mourning, TTP will not be allowed to carry out terrorism in Pakistan.

He said we desire peace, tranquility and stability in Afghanistan as it is also important for Pakistan.

Sheikh Rashid said that there is no burden of refugees on Pakistan, trade routes are open from Afghanistan and bilateral trade has increased by 65%, so far we have brought 2528 Afghans.

1500 Afghans came to Pakistan via Torkham border and 1100 Afghans returned to Afghanistan through Torkham border. The TTP will not be allowed to carry out terrorism in Pakistan, the minister said.

The Interior Minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan will very soon issue a detailed statement regarding the Afghan situation.

He said a desk in the Interior Ministry is working round the clock to facilitate the evacuation from Afghanistan.

Sheikh Rashid said that Imran Khan thinks ten years ahead, PDM has no more power, they should prepare for elections, only Maulana Fazlur Rehman is aware of the situation in Afghanistan.

Sheikh Rashid said a comprehensive security system is being introduced under which all the provincial capitals will be linked with Islamabad.

The Home Minister said that India instigated terrorism in Pakistan, India lost its face in Afghanistan, India must be worried about the situation in Afghanistan, the whole world is aware of the mourning that is left in India.

Regarding security in the federal capital, the Home Minister said that CDA has paid for 1122, 8 security related drones have been procured in Islamabad, 1,092 cameras are being installed in the city.
