Pakistan's Covid positivity rate crosses 9%
Pakistan's COVID-19 positivity rate crossed 9% according to NCOC which tweeted on Thursday that it stood to 9.06%, the highest it's been since May when it was 9.12%.
NCOC reported 60 deaths in the same period bringing the tally to 23,635.
Their data also shows a rapid increase in the number of daily cases and deaths.
The NCOC reported 62,462 tests of which 5,661 tested positive in the last 24 hours.
The number of active cases are 77,409.
Several parts of the country are in various forms of lockdowns in a bid to control the virus. Sindh's lockdown will end on August 9.
NCOC also released vaccine statistics. Pakistan's efforts to vaccinate its population picked up speed after they announced various repercussions for not getting vaccinated including not getting salaries, being able to fly and also having their SIMs blocked.
