Former chief minister Sindh Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has been appointed as special assistant to the prime minister on Sindh affairs.

"The prime minister has been pleased to appoint Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Sindh Affairs," said a notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Wednesday.

The notification said that the appointment will be in an honorary capacity.

Former CM Sindh had earlier been a part of the Grand Democratic Alliance and had made decision to join PTI in a special meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan earlier this month.
