Pakistan reports 44 Covid deaths in last 24 hours
ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operations Center reported today that at least 44 Pakistanis died due to coronavirus-related causes in the past 24 hours.
According to the latest statistics, a total of 45,924 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in Pakistan. Out of these 1,052 returned positive; the positivity rate remained 2.29%.
The number of active novel coronavirus cases in the country has reached 32,921.
With 1,013 patients successfully defeating the deadly virus in the past 24 hours, total recoveries have reached 897,834 in the country.
Yesterday's tally of new cases takes the total tally to 952,907. While at least 22,152 people have been reported to die from COVID-19 so far. It must be noted that these are very conservative figures owing to a multitude of reasons and the actual number of cases and deaths are estimated to be much bigger in the country.
