Pakistan on Friday has reported 39 COVID-19 related deaths and a national positivity ratio of 1.90%. This is the first time the country has reported a positivity rate below 2% since the third wave started in February.

According to statistics shared by National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the country's nerve center for unified efforts against coronavirus, 54,647 coronavirus tests were taken countrywide, of which only 1,043 came out positive.

There are currently 2,413 critical patients of COVID-19 admitted to different hospitals in the country, no new critical cases were reported. The reported national positivity rate is 1.90%.

With these latest statistics, the country's total number of confirmed active cases stands at 35,809. Pakistan has so far recorded 946,227 confirmed cases, 21,913 deaths, and a total of 888,505 recoveries from the novel disease.

As per the numbers shared by the Ministry of National Health Service, 93.9% of the total confirmed cases have recovered while the mortality rate is 2.3%.

Currently, most active cases are reported in Sindh (19,827) followed by Punjab (10,462), and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (2,958). There are currently 1,216 active cases in Islamabad, 447 in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, 794 in Balochistan, and 105 in Gilgit Baltistan.

Vaccination update:

According to the latest numbers shared by the NCOC, Pakistan has so far administered 12,483,801 vaccine doses. 3,306,330 people are fully vaccinated while 6,674,107 have received at least one dose.
