COVID-19: Pakistan reports 34 deaths, 2.59% positivity rate
Pakistan on Monday has reported 1,019 new cases and 34 COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours.
According to statistics shared by National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the country's nerve center for unified efforts against coronavirus, 39,214 coronavirus tests were taken countrywide, of which only 1,019 came out positive.
There are currently 2,767 critical patients of COVID-19 admitted to different hospitals in the country, 15 new critical cases were reported. The reported national positivity rate is 2.59%.
With these latest statistics, the country's total number of confirmed active cases stands at 41,726. Pakistan has so far recorded 942,189 confirmed cases, 21,723 deaths, and a total of 878,740 recoveries from the novel disease.
As per the numbers shared by the Ministry of National Health Service, 93.3% of the total confirmed cases have recovered while the mortality rate is 2.3%.
Currently, most active cases are reported in Sindh (23,495) followed by Punjab (11,295), and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (3,608). There are currently 1,657 active cases in Islamabad, 541 in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, 1,029 in Balochistan, and 101 in Gilgit Baltistan.
