The United States has seen the most devastation by the novel coronavirus infection among all the countries as over 30 million cases have been reported in the country accounting for almost a quarter of global cases' tally. But the US is also the country that has vaccinated the most number of people against COVID-19.

According to the statistics provided by the website 'Our World In Data', the United States leads all other nations, by a huge distance, in terms of the number of people that have been fully vaccinated against the novel disease. Fully vaccinated means that the total number of people who have received all doses prescribed by the vaccination protocol. According to the website, this data is only available for countries that report the breakdown of doses administered by first and second doses.

As of today, over 50.14 million Americans have been fully vaccinated. The second on the list is India with 8.83 million people while the third country on the list with the most number of people that have been vaccinated fully is Turkey with 6.44 million people.

It must be noted that over 140 million people have been given at least one dose of the COVID vaccine in the US. This figure is also the highest in the world, with China being the second on the list.

In the United States, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given emergency use authorization to three COVID-19 vaccines. These include: Pfizer-BioNtech, Moderna , and Jansssen/Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines. More types of vaccines are expected to be authorized for use in the coming months.

Mass vaccination campaigns of the US government have started to show results as the coronavirus spread has slowed down considerably in the country. In fact, nowadays the rate of virus spread in the country is the lowest it has ever been in the pandemic. This proves that the only way by which the world can defeat this deadly flu bug and we can resume our normal lives is by immunizing whole populations as soon as possible. There's no other way to prevent further devastation.
