G7 backs ‘sizeable’ IMF aid for COVID-hit poor nations
The G7 Finance Ministers have agreed to support sizeable IMF aid for the poorest nations hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.
British Finance Minister, Rishi Sunak, after chairing the Group of Seven meeting virtually, he said that the agreement paves the way for crucial and concerted action to support the world's low-income countries, ensuring that no country is left behind in the global economic recovery from Coronavirus.
Besides Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States are the members of the G-7 organization.
