KARACHI: Terming the revelations made by Broadsheet owner Kaveh Moussavi about National Accountability Bureau (NAB) a charge-sheet against the anti-corruption watchdog, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday asked the Supreme Court (SC) to take its notice.

Speaking to the media outside the Accountability Court in Karachi, PML-N leader questioned as to what NAB had been doing since its inception; what are its accomplishments.

"There is nobody to hold this ‘shameless’ institution accountable which put the entire blame of somebody else’s wrongdoings on party supremo Nawaz Sharif. The bureau has failed to prove anything against Nawaz despite the passage of several years,” he regretted.

The former prime minister said the SC had called NAB an institution created by the government to force politicians to change their loyalties.

He accused the bureau of giving an NRO to those who plundered the national wealth. “Rs7 billion were given to NAB to collect material against Nawaz Sharif,” Abbasi said and added if there were any accountability in the country the NAB chairman would be facing the music now.

He said now fingers were being pointed at government ministers. “Those who looted the national wealth should be taken to the task,” PML-N leader demanded.

Claiming that there was no substance in the case framed against him, former prime minister said the Sindh High Court had already laid bare all details of his case.
