Faisal Vawda given another chance to file reply in disqualification case
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Amir Farooq on Thursday heard the case on the disqualification petition of Federal Minister Faisal Vawda and gave yet another change to the Minister for Water Resources to submit reply on the status of his dual nationality at the time of nomination of the papers to contest general elections 2018.
Justice Air Farooq remarked that he did not understand how to get a reply in this case and a copy of the notice sent to the federal cabinet as now the answer may come from there.
“If Faisal Vawda does not want to give an answer, let us know, then the court will decide on the record of the Election Commission of Pakistan,” Justice Amir Farooq said.
Lawyer of Faisal Vawda asked the court to give him some time, on which the court gave Faisal Vawda another chance to file his reply by February 8.
It is pertinent to note that petitioner, Mian Faisal Advocate, has alleged that the PTI leader was a US citizen when he filed his nomination papers to contest the election from Karachi.
Vawda had won the 2018 general election from Karachi's NA-249 constituency.
