Smart lockdown imposed in different areas of Peshawar as Covid cases spike
A smart lockdown has been imposed in different areas of Peshawar to control spread of the coronavirus.
According to details, district government has implemented smart lockdown different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa’s capital as country experiences second wave of Covid-19.
The areas include Sadar, Hayat Abad, University Town, Old Jamrood Road, Cantt, Gulberg and Qayyum Sports Complex.
The lockdown will begin from 6:00 pm today.
The entry and exit points of these areas have been sealed and people will be allowed to leave homes only in case of emergency. Face masks have also been made mandatory in public. Businesses of essential services including grocery stores and pharmacies will remain open.
The lockdown will last until December 05.
The confirmed cases have surged to 47,370 in KP while the death toll has reached 1,369.
Pakistan has reported 67 coronavirus deaths and 2,458 new positive cases in one day.
