2,547 newly confirmed cases take the national COVID tally to 365,927
- In the last 24 hours, Pakistan reported the highest single-day coronavirus tally since July 12.
The second wave of novel coronavirus infection is on the rise in Pakistan and the flu bug is showing no signs of stopping anytime soon. To curb the infection the federal and provincial governments have implemented 'smart lockdowns' in several hotspots of major cities. The authorities are also considering shutting down schools and colleges to contain the spread of the viral disease.
According to the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) the latest coronavirus situation in the country is as follows:
CONFIRMED CASES: 365,927 (Last 24 hours: 2,547)
DEATHS: 7,248 (Last 24 hours: 18)
RECOVERED: 326,674 (Last 24 hours: 886)
TOTAL TESTS: 5,055,382 (Last 24 hours: 36,899)
CRITICAL CASES: 1,535
Sindh leads the country in terms of total coronavirus cases reported followed by Punjab. The province-wise Coronavirus cases confirmed in several parts of the country to date are as follows :
