Convicted Bushra Bibi appeals for better facilities at Adiala Jail
Convicted Bushra Bibi has approached the Islamabad High Court seeking improved facilities while serving her sentence at Adiala Jail.
As the former First Lady, she was previously residing at the Prime Minister’s House, and her application asserts her entitlement to better amenities.
In her petition, Bushra Bibi has requested the jail authorities for enhanced facilities, but her application has reportedly been ignored by the Superintendent of Adiala Jail. Notably, her husband, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been deemed deserving of better conditions in the same jail.
Bushra Bibi’s plea calls for both the federal government and the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad to be made parties in the case, urging the court to direct the provision of improved facilities under the Jail Rules of 1978.
She is currently serving a seven-year sentence related to a £190 million corruption case. The petition seeks guidance for all parties involved to fulfill their legal responsibilities in this matter.
