London mayor Sadiq Khan visits Karachi
KARACHI: London Mayor Sadiq Khan visited the mausoleum of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Pakistan's Quaid-e-Azam (founding father), in Karachi on Friday.
He was greeted by officials of the Pakistan Navy, who gave him a guard of honour.
Khan also offered prayers at Jinnah's grave.
Khan said "It's really important that the people of Pakistan see the values of my city (London): of pluralism, of religious freedom, of equality. I am hoping Insha Allah (god willing) that the next 70 years in relation to our friendship between London and Pakistan will be even better. I am looking forward to a friendship that leads to more jobs being created, more prosperity, and more wealth."
The London mayor is in Pakistan leading a trade mission as part of the #LondonIsOpen campaign.
