PM Sharif holds a meeting to review LoC situation
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says deliberate escalation of tension at Line of Control by Indian Forces is a threat to regional peace and security.Â
He said this while chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday to review deteriorating situation at the Line of Control.
The Prime Minister said it is also a futile attempt of the Indian authorities to divert the world’s attention from the worst kind of atrocities they are committing against innocent people of Occupied Kashmir.
He underlined that Pakistan cannot be bullied by such tactics as we are fully capable of defending our soil against any belligerence.
The Prime Minister urged United Nations to take notice of ceasefire violations on LoC.
Adviser on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz briefed the Prime Minister on the latest situation at Line of Control.
The Advisor said that the recent incidents of firing by the Indian forces have resulted in the Shahadat of 26 and injuries to one hundred and seven civilian.
The Prime Minister was also briefed on Pak-US relations in the backdrop of recently held Presidential elections in the United States. Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan looks forward to closely work with the newly elected government for realization of peace, security and prosperity in the region and beyond.
