Voting for senate seats continue at Sindh Assembly

KARACHI: The voting on seven general seats of Senate from Sindh is continue at Provincial Assembly Building with eight candidates contesting the elections here on Thursday.

Candidates from Pakistan People's Party (PPP) are Islamuddin Shaikh, A. Rehman Malik, Saleem Mandviwalla, Giyan Chand and Abdul Latif Ansari.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)'s nominated candidates are Khushbakht Shujjat and Mian Mohammad Ateeq Shaikh.
And only candidate of Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F) Imamuddin Shoqeen is in the run.
The time of casting vote started from 9 a.m. which will remain continue by
4 p.m. Firstly Haji Khuda Bux Rajar of PML-F cast his vote around at 9:20 a.m.
28 Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) have exercised their votes out of 168.
PPP's Sassui Palijo and MQM's Nighat Mirza were already elected unopposed on the two seats reserved for women, while PPP's Farooq H. Naek and the MQM's Mohammad Ali Khan were also elected unopposed on the seats reserved for technocrats.
