INCHEON, South Korea: Pakistan chances of winning a medal in Judo event of XVII Asian Games suffered a blow when Commonwealth Games Silver medalist Shah Hussain Shah bowed out in the 100 kilogram quarterfinals at Dowon Gymnasium on Monday when he went down to Maxim Rakov of Kazakhstan.

21-year-old London-born Shah Hussain, wearing a blue, fought well before going down fighting.Hussain's, father Hussain Shah, rose to fame by capturing bronze medal in 1988 Seoul Olympics, 26 years ago.But he failed to match his legendary father's history feat .Hussain Shah was Pakistan's first pugilist to win a bronze medal in the history of Olympics.

Kazakhstan judokas Rokov showed brilliance and technique to overpower youthful Pakistani Shah Hussain after fierce two minutes and 19 seconds contest.Kazak won the bout on an Ippon with Yoko-shino-gatama.

Tokyo-based Shah Hussain came into limelight when he went down to Scotland's Burton in the final of XX CW Games held in Glasgow, Scotland last month.

“Standard of judo is very high as compared to Commonwealth countries.I was hoping to repeat my and father's feat. But dream could not be realized as it was not easy," Shah Hussain, who was making his debut in the Asian Games," told reporters after the bout. He said Japan is top nation in judo with Koreans, Central Asian Republics got very high standard in judo.

"Like my country people, well-wisher and supporters, I was disappointed really with the loss.But it's part and parcel of the game. You must keep going,” dejected but confident, Shah Hussain remarked.

Earlier, in the last 16 round, Hussain Shah defeated Afghanistan's Muhammad Tawfiq Bakhshi to advance to the quarter-finals.

Highly talented Shah Hussain fought brilliantly against the Afghan to emerge winner.A couple of times Tawfiq put Shah Hussain under but recovered swiftly.
