Waar is a 2013 action thriller Pakistani movie directed by Bilal Lashari. The movie has experienced the ultimate heights in Pakistani cinema with record breaking profits ever. Waar stars Shaan, Ayesha khan, Meesha Shafi, Ali Azmat, Shamoon Abbasi and Hamza Ali Abbasi. The cast played a huge success factor for the movie by making it the highest grossing film ever of Pakistani cinema.

The movie was released on 16^th October 2013 on Eid-Ul-Adha and it was the widest release ever in Pakistan with 2 months of continuous screening and 100% occupancy breaking the record of audience capacity. The shows were over booked and the movie earned total of approx 230 million in local market and total of 400 million in international market. The movie depicts the Pakistan’s war in terror.

The movie surprisingly made out no illegal copies out of the cinemas, thus allowing it to make huge profits. The people longed for the Waar to be released on DVDs or on the television, but the hopes were high when finally it was decided to be tv premiered on a Private Channel on this 14^th august.  Finally the Waar was Tv premiered on 14^th august on Private Channel, the excitement of those who wouldn’t have invested much money watching movie in theatres was high and Waar made huge viewership out of this 14^th august. There couldn’t be a better choice of day than 14^th august when the people are enjoying the independence at home and would love to watch a depicting Pakistan and patriotism on this blessed day.

Those who are planning to own a DVD of waar have to wait a little more since the movie is being released in the international markets and it wouldn’t be healthy for the team to lose huge revenues if the DVD’s are out before the release in all the 35 countries as decided. Currently it has been released in 3 to 4 countries with Australia being the latest.
