KARACHI: Senior Sindh Minister for Education Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has promised stringent measures to curb the trend of cheating in educational examinations.

He was speaking at a ceremony organised at N.J.V. School to give appointment letters to 253 higher secondary teachers who qualified National Testing Service (NTS) test in Karachi, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas Range.

Nisar Khuhro warned teachers and students that cheating in educational board examinations would not be tolerated. Besides cayrring out an inquiry against responsible teachers and other employees, their salaries would also be withheld, he added.

He said that a special training of teachers would be conducted to improve the standard of education.
Nisar Khuhro said that teachers would have to play their role to improve the quality of education in the province.

The minister said that teachers would be appointed on merit, adding that 7,000 junior school teachers who passed NTS test would receive offer letters from next month.

He asked the officials of the Education Department to discharge their duties with dedication, and warned of disciplinary action over any negligence.

Nisar Khuhro expressed pleasure over disbursement of Rs 16 billion financial assistance by the World Bank to Sindh province in education sector on a merit basis.

The minister said that there is a complete ban on transfers/postings and deputation in the Sindh Education Department.

He warned of disciplinary action against any illegal transfers.
