Rakesh Roshan says Shah Rukh Khan had a huge problem with Karan Arjun
As the iconic film Karan Arjun gears up for re-release, director Rakesh Roshan has reflected on its impact and potential for a reboot. Set to celebrate its 30th anniversary in January 2025, the film originally featured Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan as brothers seeking revenge after being murdered by their uncle.
Roshan admits to feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety ahead of the re-release on November 22, highlighting the enduring relevance of the film’s themes, particularly the concept of reincarnation.
He noted that despite initial skepticism from Shah Rukh about the reincarnation plot. The film’s success proved its appeal, leading to Shah Rukh’s later involvement in similar themes, as seen in Om Shanti Om.
Regarding a modern revival, Roshan expressed a preference for Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor as the lead actors, indicating that a balanced approach to their roles would be essential for any new adaptation.
