Imam Hussain's (AS) Chehlum celebrated today
ISLAMABAD: Chehlum is to be celebrated in remembrance of Imam Hussain's (AS) and his companions who sacrificed their lives in Karbala.
Arrangements of stringent security has been made in cities. According to sources, Karachi is on highest threat, so security arrangements here are being made more strict then other cities.
Pillion riding and mobile services have been banned in 22 cities including Karachi, Rawalpindi , Lahore and Peshawar.
Briefing about the security arrangements; security sources said that around 6000 rangers officers have been deployed in the cities. Center shooters will be deployed on buildings in the boundary of Chehlum rally. These shooters will be given orders by high level security officers to capture their target. Through helicopters, these processions will be surveyed.
Security towers are being made to have a clear security check on Chehlum processions. People taking part in these processions are not allowed to carry any arms with them.
According to provincial government, army has been kept on stand-by who will look after these procession and would be called in any emergency situation.
