Talking to the governing body members of Karachi Press Club, following inaugural of a two-day flower exhibition, organised by the club in co-ordination with the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the Minister said that importance of the KPC could not be ignored under any context.

Sassui Palejo said the role of KPC and the journalists of the metropolis in the Movement for Restoration of Democracy (MRD) in 1980s was a landmark in itself.

As a mark of our respect and regard for Karachiites we have given a "Monument of Love" at Seaview and this is in form of a "Tulip" designed by known sculptor Jamal Shah, she said.

The Culture Department will also build a "Sooriya Badshah" monument to honour late Pir Sahab Pagara, she mentioned.
