Interior Minister A Rehman Malik on Monday urged the media to behave responsibly, report only facts and avoid rumour mongering, which only panic the people.

Talking to media persons outside the Parliament House, he said the government believes in independence of judiciary. The government will complete its five-year term as situation in the country is absolutely normal and all institutions are working perfectly, he added.

"Despite some problems, the plane of the government will land safely in the year 2013," he said.

Responding to a question, he said the Pakistan Peoples Party government respects judiciary and will never resort to attacking the apex court like the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz when its chief the then Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif was summoned by the Supreme Court. The PML-N workers had attacked the apex court, he recalled.
