Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has cancelled its rally scheduled for November 8 in Peshawar, sources within the party said.

Instead, the PTI is considering establishing a “tent village” in Swabi, with an announcement regarding the date expected to be made soon.

Sources added that Khan’s party is aiming for a larger event, necessitating thorough preparation.

This cancellation comes at a time when there is “increasing pressure” within the party for protests demanding the release of the party founder.

Supporters on social media are vocal, urging party leaders to take action.

PTI leaders Salman Akram Raja and Sher Afzal Marwat have set a goal of mobilising between 300,000 to 400,000 participants for future protests.

Earlier this week, Raja told reporters that he would only call for a protest when he is assured of such a turnout.

Marwat stated that the establishment would be forced to engage in negotiations with PTI if he could gather 300,000 people for the protest.
