MQM-H leader Amir Khan finally released

The Sindh High Court revoked the life term of Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) leader Amir Khan and ordered his release on bail.

MQM H leaders Afaq Ahmed and Amir Khan had already had been granted on bail on May 10.

A lower court had awarded life term to the two MQM-H leaders in the murder case of Farooq Ahmad who was brother of MQM provincial minister Haroon Siddiqui. A case had been registered by Landhi Police against Afaq Ahmad and Amir Khan in 1998.

The court suspended the sentence of both the accused and directed government to release them if there were no other cases against them.

Following the court’s order, the authorities released Amir Khan from central jail today.
