India elects to bat against SA

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat against South Africa in their World Cup Group B game at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium on Saturday.

South Africa has four points from three games. After comprehensive wins over the West Indies and the Netherlands, South Africa lost to England in a low-scoring game at Chennai.

India, coming into the tournament as a favourite, is unbeaten so far. It is presently at the top of the group with seven points after three wins and a last-ball tie with England.

India made one change from the team that beat the Netherlands by five wickets, bringing in pace bowler Munaf Patel for leg-spinner Piyush Chawla.

South Africa brought in off-spinner Johan Botha for leg-spinner Imran Tahir, who suffered a thumb injury in the last match against England, which South Africa lost by six runs.
