The US national, Aaron Mark DeHaven, arrested in Peshawar for overstaying his visa was released on bail by the local court on Tuesday.

The American contractor had been arrested from university town here when he was on his way to office.

Earlier, the additional session judge, on Monday, had ordered the release of detained American on Rs 2 million bail.

DeHaven secured his release after his wife has deposited the bail amount on Tuesday.

The security has been beefed up at the Peshawar Central jail on Tuesday to avoid any untoward incident.

Aaron Mark DeHaven was directed to inform the authorities before leaving the city.
