England decides to bat against South Africa

England won the toss and elected to bat first in their World Cup Group B match against South Africa at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, India on Sunday.

The Proteas are the current log-leaders thanks to their two wins from two while England are in fourth after a rather patch run of form which has seen them win one, tie one and lose one of their three matches.

England are coming off a dispiriting loss to Ireland and will be desperate to get their World Cup campaign back on track.

South Africa have named an unchanged XI which means that there is still no place for Johan Botha and Lonwabo Tsotsobe while all indications are that Morne van Wyk will keep wicket in place of AB de Villiers.

England make one change with Ravi Bopara replacing the under-performing Paul Collingwood.

Teams

South Africa – Graeme Smith (capt), Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Faf du Plessis, Morne van Wyk (wk), Robin Peterson, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Imran Tahir.

England - Andrew Strauss (capt), Kevin Pietersen, Jonathan Trott, Ian Bell, Ravi Bopara, Matt Prior (wk), Michael Yardy, Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann, James Anderson.
