Unknown Gunmen have killed a female police officer and five of her relatives in Hangu on Friday.

Police officer Umar Draz Khan said the attackers stormed the family's home late Thursday in Hangu.

Gunmen opened fire at a house, killing a women police officer. Her two sons, daughter and a daughter-in-law were also killed.

The motive, however, was unclear.

The 50-year-old female officer, Shamshad Begum, had been in the police for several years. Her latest assignment was searching women at checkpoints.
