Milk prices sky high in Karachi

Retailers mafia on Tuesday increased milk prices upto Rs. 4 per liter in Karachi, as rampant increase in prices of essential commodities during October has almost exhausted buying capacity of majority of consumers of lower and middle segment of the population.

Joint secretary of Diary Farmers Association Rafique uddin Babar said that with the latest increase in prices of electricity and petroleum, prices of diary products increased.

After the latest soaring, milk was sold around Rs. 56 to Rs. 60 per liter, while yogurt has sold at Rs. 80 per Kg in the city.
