Security Forces killed 17 militants on Thursday as operation against extremists continues in Northwestern part of the country.

According to the details, security forces shelled 3 compounds in Upper Orakzai Agency, killing 12 militants in the attack. 6 militants were also reported injured in strike.

Earlier, at least 5 terrorists were killed and 10 others sustained injuries on Thursday morning in a clash with security forces in Tehsil Anbar of Mohmand Agency.

Political administration in Mohmand confirmed the death of militants.

Security forces have recently stepped up the campaign against the militants in Northwest Pakistan.
