Lebanon cabinet approves UN plan for Hariri murder court

Lebanon cabinet approves UN plan for Hariri murder courtThe Lebanese cabinet approved a UN document on Monday setting out the legal basis of an international tribunal to try suspects in the murder of former premier Rafiq Hariri, Telecommunication Minister Marwan Hamadeh said.
"We approved the draft and we will notify the UN Security Council," Hamadeh told AFP after a cabinet meeting held hours after the resignation of a sixth pro-Syrian minister.
"There were no reservations on the final draft" of the text establishing a special tribunal into the massive February 14, 2005 bombing on the Beirut seafront that also killed 22 other people.
A UN probe, which is still underway, has implicated senior officials from Syria, which for decades was the power-broker in its smaller neighbour. Damascus strongly denies any connection with the killing.
