'24' star Sutherland freed from jail after 48 days
Actor Kiefer Sutherland, rugged star of the hit series '24,' was freed from jail on Monday after serving a 48 day term for drunk driving, police said.
Sutherland left the Glendale prison north of Los Angeles a little after midnight on Monday, said local police official John Balian.
The 42 year old actor, who plays super-agent Jack Bauer in the tense national security drama "24," pleaded guilty on October 9 after he was arrested two weeks earlier for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Sutherland was already on probation for another drunk driving violation in 2004 when he was stopped in September.
The son of veteran actor Donald Sutherland, Kiefer Sutherland is best known for playing US secret agent Jack Bauer in "24," the role that earned him a Golden Globe in 2002 and an Emmy in 2006.
