The federal budget for the upcoming fiscal year is unlikely to be presented on June 5, sources said on Tuesday.
In another significant development, a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC), originally scheduled for June 3, has been postponed.
A notification has been issued stating that the new date for the NEC session will be announced later.
Government officials maintained that the budget could instead be presented on either June 8 or June 12, while some National Assembly sources suggested June 10 as a possible date.
No final decision has yet been made regarding the revised schedule.
The delay in the budget presentation and the NEC meeting comes amid ongoing discussions and preparations by the government ahead of the new fiscal year.
According to earlier reports, the Economic Survey for the current financial year will be presented on June 4.
