Pakistan Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday in Tehran, where the two sides discussed bilateral relations and regional developments, Iranian media reported.
The meeting at the Presidential Palace lasted around 90 minutes and was also attended by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
According to Iranian media and the Pakistani embassy in Tehran, discussions focused on bilateral cooperation, regional peace efforts and the possibility of resuming dialogue to ease tensions in the region.
Momeni received Naqvi at the airport on arrival and praised Pakistan’s efforts, including those of Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, in supporting mediation efforts in regional disputes.
Naqvi also met Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, where matters of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation were discussed.
The Pakistani interior ministry said both sides reiterated their commitment to strengthening longstanding ties and continuing cooperation on peace, security and regional stability.
